At the start you ride with the Allgäu mountains in view, through Sonthofen to Kempten. Further downstream the river forms the border between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and the valley turns quiet and green. Ulm is the finish, with its Gothic minster and the tallest church spire in the world.
