Is this route right for you?

A good fit if you want to

  • ride almost entirely on the flat and by the water

Less ideal if you want to

  • have peace and quiet in high summer

The route at a glance

The Lake Constance Cycle Path loops around the whole lake for about 260 kilometres, linking Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You ride mostly close to the shore, past orchards, vineyards and woods, with swimming spots for a break along the way. There is fresh fish from the lake, Lake Constance apples and plenty of inns. The paths are well built and signposted, and bike hire, repair shops and cyclist accommodation are found all around the lake, which makes the loop a good fit for relaxed stages and a first multi-day trip.
