The route at a glance
The Glan-Blies cycle path links the Glan and Blies valleys over about 130 kilometres and ends across the French border in Sarreguemines in Lorraine, a town known for its ceramics. You start in Staudernheim and follow the Glan through hilly country of meadows and woods, via the old town of Meisenheim and Lauterecken, where the Lauter joins the Glan. Lichtenberg Castle lies along the way. The route is well built and signposted and suits less experienced touring cyclists too.
