The route at a glance
This western variant of the Munich to Venice cycle route covers about 560 kilometres to the Adriatic. Through the Bavarian Oberland with its villages and meadows you reach the Alps, follow the Inn valley and cross the mountains over several passes. In Italy the landscape turns Mediterranean as you ride through Trentino with its vineyards and orchards, past Trento, and through the Veneto to Venice and its lagoon. The Alpine sections call for stamina and experience, and there is plenty of accommodation on the way.
